Maalox® is a balanced mixture of two antacids, aluminium hydroxide is a slow antacid and magnesium hydroxide is a quick acting one. Maalox® works by lowering the amount of acid in your stomach

Indication: As an antacid for the symptomatic relief of hyperacidity in general

Dosage and Directions For Use: 
Adults aged 15 years and above: 1-2 sachets per intake when heartburn or acid regurgitation occurs. Drink the suspension as is, do not dilute. Knead the sachets carefully before opening.

May be taken 20 minutes to 1 hour after meals and at bedtime or as required. Do not take more than 12 sachets per day.

Ingredients: 
Magnesium hydroxide 400mg, Aluminium hydroxide 460mg. 

Warnings:

• Do not take more than 12 sachets in a 24-hour period or use the maximum dosage for more than 2 weeks. 
• Do not use if you have kidney disease except under the advise and supervision of a physician.
• Aluminium hydroxide may cause constipation due to its astringent action, this effect may be balanced by the cathartic effect of the magnesium salts.
• Aluminium hydroxide may lead to a phosphate depletion syndrome, particularly in patients on a low phosphate diet, eg malnutrition.
• Maalox® is not recommended for children under the age of 15.
• Pregnancy and breastfeeding: this medicine can only be taken if your doctor has considered it necessary and under his/her supervision.
• Do not use Maalox® after the expiry date.
