ConvaTec Aquacel Sterile Foam Dressing is a non adhesive Hydrofiber foam dressing for the protection and management of exuding wounds. Aquacel Foam dressing has a soft absorbent foam pad, an Aquacel interface and a waterproof/bacteria barrier. Aquacel Foam dressing is the only foam that has comfort, simplicity and the healing benefits of an Aquacel Interface.

Directions For Use:

• Aquacel Foam dressing may be used as a primary dressing or secondary dressing.
• Always ensure the skin surrounding the wound is clean and dry.
• Choose a dressing size and shape to ensure that the central absorbent pad (area within the adhesive window), is 1/3 inch larger (1 cm) than the wound area. Dressing can be cut to shape for convenience.
• Hold the dressing over the wound and line up the center of the dressing with the center of the wound.
• Place the pad directly over the wound.
• For non-adhesive dressing, use additional tape or other means of fixation.
• The dressing should be changed when clinically indicated (i.e. leakage, bleeding, increased pain, suspicion of infection).
• The Aquacel Foam dressing maximum recommended wear time is up to seven days.
• The wound should be cleansed at appropriate intervals.
• To easily remove the dressing, press down gently on the skin and carefully lift one corner of the dressing. Continue until all edges are free. Carefully lift away the dressing and discard according to local clinical protocols.

Caution:

• Aquacel Foam Dressings should not be used on individuals who are sensitive to or who have had an allergic reaction to any of its components.
• This product does not contain latex.
• Sterility is guaranteed unless pouch is damaged or opened prior to use.
• Aquacel Foam Dressings are for single-use only.
• A healthcare professional should be consulted if any of the following are observed during dressing changes, irritation, maceration (whitening of skin), hyper-granulation (excess tissue formation), signs of infection, or a change in wound colour and/or odour.
