Duofilm Solution 15mL (For Treatment of Warts, Corns and Calluses)

Duofilm solution contains two medicines called salicylic acid and lactic acid. It works by softening the skin of a wart, corn and callus, causing it to peel off. 

Indications: Duofilm Solution is indicated in the treatment of warts, corns and calluses.
 
Directions For Use:

• Only to be used externally on skin. 
• For use in adults, the elderly and children aged 2 years and over. 
• Apply Duofilm solution directly to the affected area only i.e. wart, verruca, corn or callus. 
• Use in children should be under the supervision of an adult. 
• To be applied once daily, preferably at bedtime. 
• Procedure for application: 
  (1) The wart, corn or callus should be soaked in warm water for 5 minutes and dried thoroughly with a clean towel. 
  (2) The surface of the wart, corn or callus should be rubbed with a nail file, pumice stone, emery board or coarse washcloth, with care taken not to cause bleeding. 
  (3) A thin layer of Duofilm solution should be applied directly to the wart, corn or callus. Care should be taken to avoid the healthy surrounding skin. 
  (4) The solution should be allowed to dry thoroughly. The wart, corn or callus should be covered with a plaster (dressing) if it is large or if it is on the foot to help penetration of ingredients. 
• It is recommended that treatment continues until whichever of the following occurs first: 
  (i) Corns and calluses have been treated for 2 weeks;
  (ii) Warts have been treated for 12 weeks;
  (iii) Or until the wart, corn or callus is completely cleared and the normal ridgelines of the skin have been restored.
• For warts, clinically visible improvement should occur in 1-2 weeks, but the maximum effect may be expected after 4-8 weeks. 
• If the wart has not disappeared after 12 weeks of treatment, ask your doctor or pharmacist for advice. 

Ingredients:

• Salicylic acid 16.7% w/w
• Lactic acid 15% w/w
• Flexible collodion (contains pyroxylin, colophony, virgin castor oil, ethanol and ether) q.s
• Ethanol 90% 

Cautions:

• For topical application only. 
• Keep out of reach of children. 
• Contents are flammable. 
• Keep away from fire or flame. 
• Keep bottle tightly closed when not in use and store at room temperature away from heat. 
• Do not store above 30ºC. 
• Not recommended for use during pregnancy and breastfeeding. 
• Do not use Duofilm solution:
  (a) If you are allergic (hypersensitive) to salicylic acid, lactic acid or any other ingredients of Duofilm solution. 
  (b) If the wart, verruca, corn or callus or skin surrounding it, is red, irritated, broken or infected.
  (c) On moles, birthmarks, or warts with hairs growing from them, red edges or that are of an unusual colour. 
  (d) On warts that are on your face, genital area or mucous membranes such as eyes, nose or mouth. 
  (e) On warts that cover an area of the body more than 5cm²  (approximately the size of a postage stamp). 
  (f) For diabetics or those suffering from poor blood circulation or poor sense of feeling (nerve damage) to the hands or feet.
  (g) For infants under 2 years old. 
  (h) For children or teenagers showing any signs of fever, who have a viral infection (flu or chickenpox) or who have just recovered from any of these illnesses.
