Maltofer (Iron 100mg) Chewable Tablet (3 x 10's) - Chocolate Flavour

Indications:

• Treatment of iron deficiency without anaemia and iron deficiency anaemia. 
• Prophylactic therapy of iron deficiency during pregnancy. 

Dosage and Directions For Use:

• Treatment of iron deficiency anaemia in children over 12 years and adults: 100mg-300mg iron (1-3 chewable tablets) daily for 3-5 months until normalization of the haemoglobin value is achieved. Afterwards, the therapy should be continued for several weeks with 1 chewable tablet daily to replenish the iron stores. 
• Treatment of iron deficiency anaemia in pregnancy: 200mg-300mg iron (2-3 tablets) daily until normalization of the haemoglobin value is achieved. Afterwards, the therapy should be continued with 1 chewable tablet daily at least until the end of the pregnancy to replenish the iron stores and to supplement the increased iron need during pregnancy. 
  
• Treatment and prevention of iron deficiency without anaemia in children over 12 years and adults: 100mg iron (1 chewable tablet) once daily for 1-2 months. If a smaller dose is required for prevention, Maltofer syrup can be used. 
  
• Maltofer chewable tablets can be chewed or swallowed whole and should be taken during or immediately after a meal.
  
• Not recommended for children under 12 years of age. Maltofer syrup and drops are in a more suitable form (and concentration) for administration of the recommended dosages to infants and children under 12 years of age. 
  

Ingredient: 100mg iron as iron (III)-hydroxide polymaltose complex.
